‘Roar’ is about singing, dancing and all round expression. We decided to jump out of an aeroplane, to ‘touch the sky’ and we have made a lyric video from the footage to accompany the release. We wanted to write a pop song, but after hearing some amazing South Asian instruments at the cultural centre near the recording studio we were intent unmaking it a part of the composition. It heavily features an instrument called a ‘Rubab’, which is a lute-like instrument originating from central Afghanistan. It will be the first piece of music officially released online since 2017, and will be celebrated by a launch party in Bradford Uk 30th August followed by some acoustic shows in LA and Austin Texas.
